interesting tidbit  
Alan Shepard the first american in space, has meniers. He had it when he went up into space too. My fienca found this out. cool huh?

Alan Shepard driving?
Hmmm, I feel uncomfortable driving when I've had flare-ups. How does one control a space craft if one's menier's acts up? Not exactly a place to sit down and close your eyes.

yeah, makes one wonder. people have it to varying degrees, but still it's not like he could predict how severe any given episode would be. I'm surprised NASA kept him honestly... they're pretty rigid in their employment policies, something akin to Air Force pilot standards.
